Reconciliation Action Plan

Reconciliation is about building relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Aboriginal peoples. As an agency, we recognise that reconciliation is an essential and ongoing journey for all Australians. Reconciliation is key to Preventive Health SA’s commitment to achieve equality and equity for Aboriginal people and to support the cultural, physical, mental and social wellbeing of Aboriginal people in South Australia.

Taking action to reduce disparities in health and wellbeing outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is a strategic priority for Preventive Health SA and to achieve this, we have a dedicated Aboriginal Health team to help lead this important work.

In June 2026, Preventive Health SA released the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, an opportunity to formalise our commitment to creating an environment that actively removes barriers and creates meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to thrive.
