Update on Population Data registers data custodianship
Effective 27 July 2026, Preventive Health SA no longer serves as the data custodian for the Population Data registers. This includes the South Australian Cancer Register, the Pregnancy Outcome Unit registers, and the SA Trauma Registry.
The new data custodian is the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health, who can be contacted via ceih@sa.gov.au.
Data about pregnancy outcomes
The following visualisations explore data regarding pregnancy outcomes in South Australia and is sourced from the Perinatal Statistics Collection, managed by the Pregnancy Outcome Unit.
The Pregnancy Outcomes Unit supports statewide monitoring of pregnancy characteristics and outcomes. Some of the Unit’s data collections date back to 1986, providing a robust evidence base to help identify trends and population groups most at risk, determine preventive interventions, and support the health and wellbeing of South Australian families.
