Strengthening preventive health capacity for South Australia’s LGBTIQA+ communities

We are committed to reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases and improving health equity for priority populations, including LGBTIQA+ communities, through evidence-based, community-led and responsive preventive health approaches.

Partnership with South Australian Rainbow Advocacy Alliance (SARAA)

We are partnering with SARAA, South Australia’s LGBTIQA+ peak body, to strengthen the sector’s preventive health capacity through tailored and targeted approaches across the prevention priority areas.

Through this partnership, SARAA will coordinate preventive health action, amplify community voices, and translate evidence into meaningful practice to improve health and wellbeing outcomes of LGBTIQA+ communities.

This will include:

  • mapping of existing preventive health initiatives
  • developing a cross-sector preventive health action plan for implementation
  • embedding lived experience leadership in co-designing with communities
  • building the sector capacity in culturally safe and inclusive practices.
