Research requests

Research plays an important role in supporting our evidence-informed program of prevention work.

Preventive Health SA undertakes, commissions and supports collaborative research and the interpretation of evidence in the areas of preventive health and wellbeing.

Research requests may include, but are not limited to, collaboration on research projects and grant applications, student research projects, requests for letters of support for research, and participation in research advisory groups.

Our research priorities

Preventive Health SA is committed to supporting requests that align with our research priorities. While we aim to support as many requests as possible, we prioritise opportunities that best fit our strategic objectives and available resources.

We prioritise research projects that:

  • are focused on primordial and/or primary prevention
  • have actionable outcomes for policy and practice
  • support our vision of healthier South Australians, across generations.

See Preventive Health SA Strategic Directions for further information.

Submitting a research request

All requests for Preventive Health SA involvement in research activities should be submitted to the research mailbox for consideration using the application form below.

If your research request also involves a data request, this can be included in your research request application. If your request is for data only, please visit our data request page.

Research requests are first reviewed by the Preventive Health SA Data and Research Committee, and then endorsed by the Executive Group. Upon submission, the team will confirm receipt of your request, discuss any additional information required, and advise when your request will be reviewed.

The Committee meets monthly. Please note out of session reviews are not able to be accommodated. Please allow up to four weeks from the meeting date for requests to be reviewed and an outcome notified.
